Meshuggah; Contradictions Collapse/None [] Gods of Rapture [*] Lyrics into truth I'm back among the blind The truth of lies Disenchanting my eyes How can I survive I can't stand being alive Gods of rapture Enshrouding my eyes A try to hide That slowly I die My past laughs at me From the other side of negation Untying the lasting few.

"None" is not substantial enough to be deemed the ultimate Meshuggah record, nor is it good enough to be called an absolutely essential listen for anybody that isn't already a fan of the band. But it is a standout in their discography, so all hardcore fans definitely ought to check it out/5(12).

None is a heavy experiment in getting the most muscle out of strange rhythms and creating a mighty pummeling atmosphere of mechanical chaos with Meshuggah gaining an identity of their own and settling into their true musical modus operandi.

Next up, "Gods Of Rapture" anchors its fiery thrash riffage and catchy, Anthrax-style call-and-response vocal patterns with positively brutal (and bottom-heavy), blasting drum patterns. Another nicely epic and technical guitar solo pops up, too/5(12).
